The "Rietmeijerschool" consists of a group of independant sculptors that learned stone carving from Mark Rietmeijer. Since then they spend a considerable part of their time working stone. The word "school" is more like a jest, Mark always emphasized the importance of the unique, personal creative process as opposed to forcing his views on formal principles onto us. Surprisingly identical formal principles sometimes arise, as was apparent at the last exhibition.
